How relevant to your life are the events of 9/11/01

The events of 9/11/01 are very relevant to my life because i had a family member that died and another that was in the building at the time of the planes. So the event really hits a emotional part of me because i have had a family member that died that day and other that was injured. But at the same time my life is effected by what happen by that days events. I have heard what had happen and gotten a first hand experience of what had happen and what it was like. So to me yes it was very relevant to my life

  1. I am sorry for your loss. Even though I am not as personally connected to the event, I still consider it to be relevant to my life due to the latest news articles I've read. I've noticed an increasing number of reports of airport security hassles e.g. people being "over searched" and having their privacy "attacked". One well known story was about the TSA and their extensive scanning. Even though it might be humiliating and uncomfortable, I would rather be 100% safe in knowing that nobody could sneak anything onto a plane. 9/11 was a tragic event that made me think a lot about our national security as a whole and how things could have been handled differently.

  2. I'm sorry that happened to you. I didn't know that about you and you must have been very sad when we were watching that film. You are also the first person that I know, that had family die in the event of 9/11. Not to be too curious, but I would like to know what building your family member was in or where he/she was when it happened? Was it tower one or tower two?

  3. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I know some people that died in that horrible attacking. But it is probably different because you had your family member died in the attacking. I feel really bad that you had to re-watch that horrible incident in class. Which tower were your family members in? Or did they get crushed from the outside? It still was a awful thing that happened.
